A spinal cord injury is one of the most physically and financially devastating injuries a person can sustain. There is no cure for spinal cord injury yet. Hopefully one day there will be. The average yearly cost associated with a C4-C5 spinal cord injury such as David's is $148,000. Insurance helps with some of the costs, but there are still significant long-term out-of-pocket expenses.
